I made a few cards like this for some special friends using my craftmate, which is like the craft robo. I hadn't used the craftmate for quite a while as I didn't get on very well with it! With a bit of perseverance I became friends with it and made some lovely cards.

Hi Emma, nice card which I found searching for Craftmate. I have a Robo, was considering if I could get a Pro second hand and if I would use it more and someone emailed and said Craftmate is cheaper.
I don't use the Robo a lot, and it doesn't cut thick enough for me. Isn't that easy to cut what I want either.
I've ended up with a craftmate and a robo - long story! Didn't get to grips with the craftmate that easily, my personal opinion is that the craftmate is great for cutting simple straight forward shapes like base cards and the robo is superb for the more intricate shapes and fonts. The craftmate cuts 300gsm card no problem
